What a perfect start to the day! My sister brought my daughter and I (we live in CA, she lives in Elizabeth) to eat here as she has been wanting to try it for a while. We were all so happy with our experience here! The food, the atmosphere, the weather! What a perfect experience! My daughter had the Strawberry and Lemon Curd (which we all agreed was the best one because we all tried one another's) I had the Honey Smoked Salmon and Dill Cheese while my sister ordered the Ham & Gruyere! We all got hot drinks too, Hot Chocolate for my daughter, I had a cappuccino and sister got an Americano. I know what I am getting during my next visit here...the Strawberry and lemon Curd....oh yummy yum!
I thoroughly enjoyed La Petite Creperie for an early lunch today! Ever the lover of all things lemon, I got the lemon and strawberry crepe with strawberry coulis and a side of whipped cream, which was absolutely delicious! I’m knocking a star off the rating, though, after my husband ordered a bacon, egg and cheese crepe, and just deemed it so-so. And, disappointingly, the crepes seemed just a wee bit thick. My only disappointment was that by the time we got there, more than 95% of the items in the sweets case were gone - so if you go, do go early!
Perhaps the problem is that I ordered take out, but I was disappointed with my first experience of La Petite Creperie - with a caveat. The savory crepes were lackluster, containing store-bought lunch meat and cheeses, and rather dry (not enough sauce!), CERTAINLY NOT worth $10. The Nutella banana crepe was delicious and decadent, but only because it contained enough filling to cancel out the spongy dryness of the crepe itself. Would not recommend takeout from this place under any circumstances - dine in is likely a better experience.
There food is absolutely amazing! And staff cares about your experience..come for their amazing crepes and coffee...you will leave with such satisfaction...and a full belly!
For a place that specializes in crepes, they don't know how to make crepes. The spongy texture was more like a pancake, the savory filling was sparse. The sweet ones were a bit better but only because they were redeemed by the Nutella and berries. Not worth the visit.
